Depression

“Mental health…is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.” Noam Shpancer, PhD

When life gets overwhelming, it can feel like each day requires more than you can give. The demands, the requests, the responsibilities now feel like burdens; getting out of bed even feels like a great feat. Sometimes all you can do is start drifting away, spending more and more time away from others. Sometimes memories from your past trigger some thoughts you rather not feel and raw emotions you rather not feel so going numb feels like the best thing to do. Maybe you’re able to fake the funk at work or with family so no one knows, but how exhausting is that?!!

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the common symptoms of depression are:

  • Changes in sleep
  • Changes in appetite
  • Lack of concentration
  • Loss of energy
  • Lack of interest
  • Low self esteem
  • Hopelessness
  • Changes in movement
  • Physical aches and pains

Let’s work together in a 1:1 session to understand how life got to be this way, and learn how to think feel and act in new ways.
